What Airline Flights Were Like In The 1980s | PAN AM Memories

I flew Pan Am international airlines many times in the mid-80s. Back then there wasn’t anything like PSA boarding or walking through security. Back then, all you had to do was come in earlier than your flight was leaving.

I remember, we got there a little late and they gave away our seats and we ended up in the smoking section of the plane, all the way from LAX to NYC. The lady the airlines sat us next to was a chain smoker. It was a hard 5-hour flight.

They also served us a full meal, included with your ticket.

Watch this short video and see how easy it was for your family to say good-bye to you before your flight left for your destination.
