Travel Blog | Part #1 | Ghostly Things To Do While In Austin Texas During Covid

Discover local things to do while visiting Austin Texas during Covid.

The reason we went to Austin was to stay at The Driskill Haunted Hotel.

An interesting thing you can do while you are visiting Austin Texas is to stay at the Haunted Driskill hotel as we did. This hotel has an interesting history. As soon as you walk through the door, you will see why it was a favorite place of President Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Did you know Claudia Taylor or “Lady Bird” first met charismatic Johnson for the first time for breakfast at The Driskill’s dining room? The couples’ first date began at the hotel but transformed into a day-long car ride and ended with a marriage proposal from Johnson on that very same day. This hotel has many interesting historical facts and ghost stories, that will keep you on your toes your entire stay.

A little secret no one will tell you. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone. All the ghostly activity is on the 5fth floor and the elevator right next to the front of the lobby where you check in.
