Travel Blog | Day 5 | The Driskill Hotel Part 2 | Shopping For Something Special In Austin Texas During Covid

At the end of the tour, Leanna dropped us off at our restaurant we had a reservation at, called Lambert. A nice-looking restaurant, although we did find the menu limited. There was not much for me to eat with my hot and spicy allergy. But I was able to eat a nice, delicious lunch salad.

Because it was only a few blocks from our hotel we decided to hoof it. This is a sign we saw. It reads I remember when you could smoke in bars. Now. You Can’t drink in them. Don’t you just love Austin?

The 100* heat made me drag my feet a bit, but we finally made it to our room, where we kicked our shoes of and relaxed for a bit.  Later that day I decided to do a little shopping at a souvenir store, just around the corner from The Driskill. They didn’t have much. I was actually looking for chocolate covered potato chips the whole time I was there, but didn’t find any. Everyone was on the hunt for them for me, including Chris from The Driskill Hotel and Mary from the AO Tours Austin company and my friend Patee who lives in Austin. We were getting to the end of our trip soon and I was hoping to find something to take back home as gifts.

Even though we didn’t find the chips, what I did find, that I have never seen in California is… Moon Pies. I bought a couple to give to my favorite young boys. They will be happy 😊

Stay tuned tomorrow when I reveal more of our trip.
